SQL Server is Microsoft's robust, industry-standard database. We offer a shared
database service on dedicated SQL Server machines. These machines are monitored
24 hours a day, 365 days a year and have proven ultra reliable since their introduction
over 5 years ago

Hosted databases can be maintained using Microsoft's standard development tools
including Query Analyzer, Enterprise Manager, Management Studio and Access.
Customers can also write their own maintenance tools in any of the supported
languages
|
|
All databases are backed-up at regular intervals to ensure the risk of data loss is
minimised. Backups are taken daily at 2:00am and kept on the server for 24 hours.
In addition real-time backups are created and held on separate servers for maximum
security. These real-time backups are kept for 28 days
|
|
We also support Microsoft Access (version 2000 and above) databases as part of our
professional hosting service. Access databases should be kept below 25MB in size to
avoid impairing the performance of the website and the server. Full connection details
are given when the professional hosting service is ordered
